The electric vehicle revolution is in full swing, and Tata Motors is at the front of it in India. The Tata Curvv EV is likely the biggest thing they’ve ever made. This isn’t just another electric car; its SUV-coupe shape makes a big statement by trying to combine style with useful electric mobility. After a lot of testing, like driving it around the city and doing a full 0โ100% range test, we think the Tata Curvv EV is a great product. But does it really give you the segment-up experience it promises because it’s so big and costs so much?

Presence on the Road
Let’s get right to the point: the design. The Tata Curvv EV is a great car. The high boot and sloping roofline make it look like a coupe, which is different from other small SUVs. The size is almost right, so it doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard. The black cladding makes the car look less sturdy, and the big 18-inch wheels fit well in the arches.
It looks better when door knobs are flush with the door and have lights on them, but they don’t work as well. When you push them, it can be hard to pull them by hand, especially if you have a lot of shopping to do. From the back, the car’s LED tail lights look great and modern. Some people would say that the front looks too much like the Nexon EV, which is a missed chance to make the car stand out more.

A mix of hits and almost-hits inside
The Tata Curvv EV’s dashboard looks a lot like the Nexon’s. The 12.3-inch touchscreen is the best part. It looks great and is simple to use. You can control the AC with both physical switches and buttons that respond to touch.
But this is where the hopes for a segment-up experience start to fade. We were hoping that the materials would be much better than the Nexon. Unfortunately, the hard plastics on the bottom dashboard and door pads are still there. This seems like a good compromise for a car that wants to look nice.
Front Seats: A great balance of room and comfort. The powered driver’s seat is comfortable and gives you good support. On the other hand, the steering wheel is fixed in place, which makes it hard to change how far you can reach. Because of this, some people might feel a little nervous when they drive.
The Tata Curvv EV has the worst back seats of any car. There is more room for knees than in the Nexon, but the roofline slopes down, so people who are taller than 5’10” may have trouble fitting in. Tall people don’t like long trips because it’s hard for them to sit up when the floor is so high. You also have to bend down and duck a little to get in and out.
There are a lot of great things about the Tata Curvv EV. You can change how the 10.25-inch digital driver’s display looks to match your style. One of the best infotainment systems on the market has a 12.3-inch screen. You can use it with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without any wires, and it’s very easy and quick to use. The JBL music system with nine speakers, the panoramic sunroof, the ventilated front seats, and the air purifier make it a great place for the driver and front passenger to be.
Safety and Usefulness Of Tata Curvv EV
The Tata Curvv EV is a big step forward because it has a lot of trunk space. The trunk is very big and can hold 500 litres. It’s also easy to load because the opening is wide. The powered tailboard with a kick sensor is the best part.
The Bharat NCAP gave it a five-star safety rating. It has six airbags, ESP, and disc brakes on all four wheels. The higher-end models have all of the ADAS features, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. They also have a camera that can see everything around the car. This makes the car very safe for families.
What It Does Best: Range and Performance
There are two battery options for the Tata Curvv EV: The 45kWh model has 150PS and a claimed range of up to 502km. The 55kWh model has 167PS and a claimed range of up to 585km (both with 215Nm of torque).
ECO and City modes give you steady, smooth power that makes driving in the city easy. There are four different kinds of regenerative braking. We liked levels 1 and 2, but level 3 was very uncomfortable and should only be used when driving alone.
You can really show off on the highway when you put the car in sport mode. It feels quick, lively, and really fun, which is better than the Nexon EV. It’s not that hard to get through. In real life, you can expect the following:
45 kWh will get you about 350 km in the city and 320 km on the highway.
55 kWh: 430 km in the city and 400 km on the highway
A DC fast charger can charge the Tata Curvv EV from 10% to 80% in about 40 minutes. A 7.2kW AC home charger can charge a battery completely in 6.5 to 8 hours.

The Choice: Style and Substance, but with Some Warnings
So, who should get the Tata Curvv EV? It’s for people who want something that looks different, has the newest technology, and works well (like that boot!). It has a lot of great features, drives well, and can go a long way.
You might be a little let down if you thought the Tata Curvv EV would have better quality inside and more comfortable back seats than the Nexon. It seems more like a “Nexon Plus,” which is a better version of Tata’s most popular electric car. It looks better, works better, and can go farther.
The Tata Curvv EV will be liked by most people. It looks good and works well with tech. It would have been very popular if it had a nice outside and a lot of room inside, with even more room in the back seat.
