The VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs have won the best safety awards in India. Both of them have a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP. In terms of protecting children, the VF 6 got a score of 44.41 out of 49, and for adults, it got a score of 27.13 out of 32. The VF 7 did even better, getting 45.25 out of 49 for protecting kids and 28.54 out of 32 for protecting adults.
Detailed Breakdown of Bharat NCAP Crash Test Results
The result in the official Bharat NCAP crash tests was good in a number of impact situations. The VF 6 and VF 7 both got the top score of 4,000 points in frontal offset tests for protecting the driver and front passenger’s head, neck, and upper legs. Side crash tests showed that their safety features were even better.
Performance in Side Impact and Pole Tests
Both cars got a score of 8,000 out of 10,000 for kids and 16,000 out of 16,000 for adults. The side impact tests on the pole also came back good. The VF 6 and VF 7 had head injury criterion values of 109 and 131, which were well below the Bharat NCAP injury level of 700. This showed that the structures were strong and the restraints worked well in severe side crashes.
